Overview
Starting from the fundamental and conceptual techniques of freehand drawing, participants will begin to develop models and learn to carry out their own design ideas starting from creative research. They will be shown how to examine salient topics from the fashion and apparel business environments, including sustainability and environmental issues; they will also be introduced to existing and emerging technologies used in fashion design. From an analysis of the realization of clothing through deconstruction, participants will study the language of the composition of haute couture and ready-to-wear garments, passing through various stages of the design process, from the illustrative proposal to the creation of the models, up to to the realization of the finished garment. Intent on designing fashion collections and making clothing, participants will be introduced to the fundamental principles of marketing and will get to know the global consumer of luxury, in order to recognize and create specific communication strategies for the fashion world. They will learn to identify and defineown collections , as well as to further develop them taking into consideration aspects concerning range plans, pricing strategies, product development and organization of production processes. By applying these skills to the planning of their own collections, participants will learn to manage various production aspects within the wider fashion chain. Finally, through the creation of business strategies related to the development of their own design project, presented in the form of a professional portfolio, participants will be able to produce business plans to support the entrepreneurial spirit of a collection proposal. The course offers participants a wide range of skills and knowledge in fashion design and marketing, in preparation for starting a career in the global fashion, luxury and creativity industry. With a broader vision and an aptitude for communication and Marketing of Fashion , participants will be equipped with more versatile skills that are incompatible with any career in the vast world of fashion and luxury. This program is part of the fashion design course of study. Starting from fashion design as the main teaching subject, participants will specialize in the area of ​​greatest interest, positioning themselves on the market as industry experts with a highly specialized and sought-after professional profile.
